When the Musical Arts Center was opened in 1972, the focus was on the Opera Hall, and the other needs such as Recital Halls and teaching facilities were wedged in around the large German style Opera Hall. In 1990, the University re-assigned the School of Music. The Annex includes two new Recital Halls, a major new music libary, music listening rooms, music practice rooms, music teaching facilities, instrument storage, and an instrument repair area.
