Built at one of the traditional oasis sites in the desert, the city of Al Ain serves as the capital of this region within the United Arab Emirates. Government authorities chose to replace the existing capitol building with a totally new campus. The complex is designed to serve as the regional symbol of the government as well as a headquarters for the ruler's representative and his staff in Al Ain. The exterior lighting package includes the heliocopter pad, security, water features, and general landscape lighting. The interior public areas of the building include meeting spaces, public corridors, and office space for the Emir when he is in residence.
