Art History Lecture and Teaching Center

University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler, Texas

The Art History Lecture and Teaching Center is a 200 seat space within the R. Don Cowan Perfoming Arts Center. In this oil-rich northeastern part of Texas, a fascination with art and art history has made the Art History Lecture Series one of the longest-lived educations/social organizations in the Tyler - Longview area. With gifts from the Art History Lecture Series membership, a sophisticated multi-media presentation facility was included in the larger project. Since the lecture series had to acommodate speakers from around the world and classroom needs, the Art History Center was designed to support all types of presentation media, both traditional and electronic. All of this technology is computer driven and can be operated by either the speaker or the operations staff.
