Facilities Studies and Operations Reviews

Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, Vincennes, Indiana - Study

Red Skelton Performing Arts Center - Vincennes, Indiana

Vincennes, Indiana was Mr. Skelton's hometown. His widow approached Vincennes University about creating a repository and gallery for materials related to his career and his artwork. The University wanted to expand the concept and create a Performing Arts Center honoring their "favorite son." The University commissioned a complete economic study and site analysis including both building costs and site condition issues. The new professional performance center for the University is envisioned to include an 850-seat touring theatre and gallery for the Red Skelton art, film, and video collection. The study included a master plan for a second phase academic performing arts complex. Central to the study was an additional review of the acoustical concerns raised by the city's railroad tracks that surround the campus.
